Sophie Calle/The Chromatic Diet

if the rules are to be broken,
why not creating a colourful week diet and table setting out of one Paul Auster's character?

Sophie Calle, a French-born Conceptual artist with a fine-tuned sense of humor, is a world-class snoop.,我特別喜歡Frances Morris敘訴Calle的特質: Calle著迷於人們在公眾生活中與私人意識的接合處,導致於她進行調查使用的技術近似於一個私人偵探,心理學家,或法醫科學家的行為模式。 然而The Chromatic Diet這個作品,主要是出自於Double Game (雙人遊戲between the work of Sophie Calle and the fiction of Paul Auster.Calle決定在保羅奧斯特的小說基礎上做一個遊戲create her own particular mixture of reality and fiction。
Maria TurnerPaul AusterLeviathan(中文譯巨獸/1992)小說中塑造出來的藝術家,whose work had nothing to do with creating objects commonly defined as art.透過解開書頁上的紅絲帶我們就像開啟了the floodgate of Calle's images, ideas, stories, memories. Calle創建她和Maria,和Auster豐富和真實關係,就像a great French meal,使我們像要更多。
Maria Turner發明一個獨特的行為儀式,限制她自己 "foods of a single colour on any given day."而Calle對於呈現混合藝術日常生活策略建立在攝影手法上,跟隨Maria的指示 did as she does.
To be like Maria, during the week of December 8 to 14, 1997, I ate Orange on Monday, Red on Tuesday, White on Wednesday, and Green on Thursday. Since Paul Auster had given his character the other days off, I made Friday Yellow and Saturday Pink. As for Sunday, I decided to devote it to the full spectrum of colors, setting out for six guests the six menus tested over the week....
